We have the first set of “off month” training ready to go! We will be holding the training at New Horizons Computer Learning Center in the Denver Tech Center (see map below). The first topic will be Interactive PDFs. We covered this topic briefly last summer, but we will go into more detail and, of course, all the new features added in CS4. We will start the training at 5:30 promptly, to ensure we will be done by 8:45.
If you would like to bring food to eat (since it’s so close to dinnertime), you’re more than welcome to. If you don’t want to take the time to stop and grab something, we are offering a limited selection from Chipotle: burrito, burrito bowl, or tacos. This will cost an extra $8, but will save you time. We will contact all those that have signed up with ordering info later.
The cost of the class is $30 for the 3-hour session for IDUG Denver members, $40 for non-members. If you’re not a member, you can register (and attend our meetings) for free by clicking here. Please mail a check for the class plus food if wanted, made out to IDUG Denver, to arrive by May 6th to: Digital Dimensions (not IDUG Denver-it confuses the mail carrier), 5023 W. 120th Ave., #105, Broomfield, CO 80020. Please feel free to leave a comment below or to send an email to admin@idugdenver.net with any comments or suggestions.
Thanks…we look forward to starting off our “off month” training and get-togethers with you!

We had another great meeting this past week on April 7th. We had around 35 people attend and we enjoyed meeting everyone. Sometimes we don’t get to say hi to everyone, so please come up and introduce yourself. Thanks to everyone who attended!
Brian Reyman (IDUG Denver co-chair) presented on exporting InDesign files to .swf and .xfl…for the Flash player and for further authoring in the Flash environment. He made it look easy, because it really is. He let us all know that we’re now Flash designers…but I think he was being kind
Erica Gamet (that’s me) gave a presentation on setting up and using Tables of Contents…sometimes for things that might not be readily apparent. Both presentations, and other chapter business, are discussed in the Meeting Wrap Up Notes.
Don’t forget, we’re going to be doing “Off Month Training” on May 12th (first topic: Interactive PDF)…more info is in the notes, and we’ll also post the specifics in the next few days right here on IDUGDenver.net. We hope everyone has a fantastic April and we’ll see you at the training and the next meeting on June 2nd!

Please join IDUG Denver for our next meeting on Tuesday, April 7th. We will meet in our usual place: Front Range Community College in Westminster. We will be discussing creating a Table of Contents in InDesign (as well as some additional uses for TOCs) and will look at exporting ID documents to Flash.
We mix and mingle from 6 - 6:30, so don’t miss this opportunity to get to know other ID users, tell others about what you’re doing with the program (and design in general), and do a bit of schmoozing. The meeting starts at 6:30 on the dot, so please give yourself plenty of time to get there. We also meet at the Exchange Tavern nearby immediately following the meeting to keep the conversation going.
We do an auction every meeting, which always includes a full copy of InDesign. However, in June, we’ll be auctioning off a copy of the entire Creative Suite. The auction is a great chance to get some good deals on software, hardware, and other goodies, while supporting this great group of InDesign afficionados.
To register (so we have a good head count for food, etc.), please visit the Official Adobe site. We hope to see you there!
